The INSTITUTE FOR ADRIATIC CROPS AND KARST RECLAMATION (IACKR) is a state-owned entity and it operates as a public research institute, under auspices of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia. The Institute is conducting innovative research projects in the field of biotechnological sciences (agriculture and forestry),  transfering the knowledge to target users (farmers, SME, goverment) and also is participating in academic education, with the aim of economic and social benefit of the community.

Role in the project: IACKR will be leader of WP4 (Sustainable production of organic sea fennel crop) and will be involved in WP1 (all tasks), WP2 (all tasks), WP3, WP6 and WP7 in some of the activities.

Competencies and experience relevant to the SEAFENNEL4MED Project: The IACKR research team includes the following researchers with a vast experience in research projects funded from different sources (national, EU, bilateral): agronomists with long experience in cultivation of vegetable crops and aromatic plants, and additionally with activities in conservation, evaluation and valorization of indigenous geno-fund of mentioned plants; food technologists and chemists with expertise in food science and food analysis and technology; soil scientist with experience in soil analysis and soil fertility
